Modelo teórico para el diseño y evaluación de la calidad en las apps infantiles (0-8 años)

2016

Abstract

Children are enthusiastic and highly motivated in front of the screens of mobile devices. Parents and educators choose which applications and games they will use. But this selection is not supported by clear and well-founded information on which quality applications are suitable for children under 8 years of age.

An exploratory analysis of the selection criteria of the best-rated international children’s applications showed that the classifications use basic descriptive criteria and partial and arbitrary evaluations of the content they offer. The need to include observable parameters related to the simplicity of the interactive design, the distribution of the elements on the screen and the development process of attention and perception is raised.

The article presents a theoretical model for the construction of an effective classification system based on literature, which allows determining the suitability for children of each educational application.
