DigiTrans will join Casa Asia and the Barcelona Confucius Institute Foundation to offer another round of book club sessions to readers of Chinese literature in Spanish translation. In this edition, readers will delve into the Chinese science fiction phenomenon. Selected authors include Liu Cixin, Hao Jingfang, Chi Ta-wei and Chen Qiufan, among others. Sessions will be hosted by DT members Maialen Marin-Lacarta, Belén Cuadra-Mora and Manuel Pavón-Belizón between October 10, 2024 and January 16, 2025.

The ALTER research group at UOC and DigiTrans invited Professor David Ownby (University of Montreal, Canada) on the 23rd of November to host a seminar on the intellectual politics of contemporary China. Prof. Ownby is the founder and editor of the Reading the China Dream project, a groundbreaking website that introduces and translates the work of contemporary Chinese intellectuals into English, offering one of the best perspectives into the intricacies of the PRC’s thought world.

Our monthly newsletter in partnership with China Traducida has accomplished one year of publication. Since its first issue in March 2022, our newsletter has offered our followers and subscribers a window into all things related to Chinese literature in translation, becoming the best way to keep updated about the developments of translated Chinese literature in the Spanish-speaking world.
