Doctoral Programs

The Management & eLearning (MeL) research group has the has the following lines of research for doctorate programs.

1. Developing personal and professional decision-making skills

This research seeks to analyse and design environments in which to create and develop suitable personal and professional decision-making skills. The research aims to systematize this knowledge to create a better approach to the complexity of decision-making in complex environments, mainly in companies, both as a part of professional learning and in subjects related to management, entrepreneurship and managerial skills.

Among others, the following lines of research stand out:

  • Analysis of competences, soft skills and learning outcomes, specially critical thinking, collaboration, team work, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship
  • The gender approach and ethical issues applied to elearning
  • Team work and cultural aspects of elearning

2. Personalization of learning

The proposed line of research has as its objective the personalization of learning actions based on the personal characteristics of the learners. Among others, the following lines of research stand out:

  • Synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid methodologies
  • Active learning methodologies
  • Feedback and learning support
  • Competency-based program design
  • Competence and knowledge assessment methodologies
  • Formal and informal methodologies
  • Connection of learning methodologies with the achievement of skills and their relationship with the labor market

3. The new forms of organization of learning

  • New forms and trends of learning
  • Identifying pedagogies and new models for exploring new educational models
  • Microcredentials as a new approach

4. Teacher Digital Competence Leadership and institutional culture analysis

The aim of this area is to improve the understanding of the role of institutional culture as an enabler or hindrance to teacher digital competence (TDC) development in Higher Education.
