The concept of engagement can be defined as the active involvement or commitment of the child during an activity or game. It is a multidimensional construct, a complex internal state that is externalized and manifested through the involvement that one has when carrying out an activity: the desire to start the activity and spend time doing it, the level of attraction (motivation) towards this activity and feeling more or less comfortable when doing it.
