In light of the new COVID-19 outbreaks in recent weeks, wearing a mask has become mandatory for over half of the Spanish population, even in public areas where social distancing is possible.
Now more than ever we have to be sure not to let our guard down! Follow these tips on using your mask responsibly and help reduce the risk of contagion:
Before putting it on
Wash your hands with soap and water or hydroalcoholic hand sanitizer.
Place it so that it covers your nose and mouth, with no gaps. Just enough space so you can breathe.
While wearing your mask
Don’t touch it.
If you do, wash your hands thoroughly.
When taking it off
Make sure to wash your hands with soap and water or hydroalcoholic hand sanitizer after you’ve taken the mask off.
Take if off from the back, by the ear loops, making sure not to touch any part that might be contaminated.
If it’s single-use, place it in a closable bag and throw it away.
If it’s self-filtering, clean the parts that came into contact with your face.
If it’s a home-made mask, wash it at 60°C.
And remember, if you notice that your mask is getting moist you should change it as soon as possible.
