Local tourism: the best choice this summer!

This summer’s going to be a bit different and not quite what we expected at the start of the year. No one foresaw a worldwide healthcare crisis that would lead to a lockdown at home and even changes in the way we interact with each other.

But that doesn’t mean we have to stay stuck at home without a holiday. We all deserve a good break! With this in mind, this summer, the best option is to promote local tourism.

There are limitless possibilities in Catalonia. You can explore the coast, or head in land or to the mountains! Now’s the time to support our local tourist industry. You can cut down on pollution by avoiding planes and cruise ships, and make a contribution to restarting the economy.

There are lots of reasons why…

• Everything will be much easier outdoors! Until we achieve the new normal that everyone’s talking about, it’s easier to keep a safe distance away from other people in open and uncrowded spaces.
• You won’t have to suffer the endless waits at airports. Travelling by car or motorhome, you can decide when and where you want to go.
• Travel round Catalonia and stay in apartments and holiday homes. This will also mean you’ll be able to save money on your holidays this year.

Local tourism’s a win-win! It lets us take life easy. To spend some time with loved ones and relax, that’s what we always look for when we head off on holiday, but this year more than ever that’s what we really deserve.

That said, if you’d prefer, you can always stay at home for a staycation! Because, though you might think otherwise, there’s sure to be plenty to discover right on your doorstep. Take the chance to explore your city, there are bound to be hundreds of spots you didn’t know about!
