Dr. Beatriz Revelles Benavente is an interim substitute professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters in the Department of English Philology at the University of Granada. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher Juan de la Cierva in the research group ESBRINA (UB) and a junior researcher at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute of the Open University of Catalonia. She holds a degree in English Philology from the University of Granada, and an Erasmusm Mundus GEMMA Master’s Degree: Women’s Studies and Gender Literature at the Women’s Institute of the University of Granada and the University of Utrecht. Finally, she received a doctorate with international mention and Cum Laude from the Open University of Catalonia for his thesis entitled: Literature, Gender and Communication in the Making: Understanding Toni Morrison’s work in the Information Society.

She has written numerous articles on pedagogy and contemporary feminist literature, as well as feminist epistemologies and methodologies using the framework of new materialisms as a starting point. She has been a member of the Atgender association executive from 2014 to 2017. She has co-edited the book Teaching Gender: Feminist Pedagogy and Responsibility in Times of Political Crisis (Routledge publishing house) with Ana M. González Ramos, and coordinated numerous special issues in magazines such as Artnodes, Social Sciences or ReiDoiCrea. She is currently in the process of publishing the translation into Spanish of the monograph published with Routledge in Ediciones Morata, which will be titled «Gender in Education: Feminist Pedagogies and Responsibility in Times of Political Crisis.»

Currently, she is part of the teacher innovation group Indagat (UB), as well as the European project MiCREATE: Migrant Children and Communities transforming Europe (Horizon 2020) and the project Funded by the Catalan Institute of Peace entitled «Digital Communication as a tool for fight against gender violence in conflict zones «(directed by Ana M. González Ramos). Her lines of research are communication in social networks, contemporary literature and contemporary feminist theories from the perspective of new materialisms.
