Dr. David Baneres

He is an expert in the field of learning digital systems, intelligent tutoring systems and distance education. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in the specialty of Computer Architecture and Microelectronics and member of the SOM Research Group at Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3). His research interests and publications are in the field of design EDA tools for high-speed circuits, intelligent tutoring systems and innovative learning systems for distance learning. Recently, he has participated in 2 national (Spanish) research projects, 1 H2020 European project, 10 internal innovation projects at the university and 4 other non-innovation projects.

Dr. Abdulkadir Karadeniz

Abdulkadir Karadeniz, works as an Assistant Professor at the College of Open Education at Anadolu University. Karadeniz holds a BA degree from Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) and an MA degree from the same Department at the Dokuz Eylul University. He also holds a Ph.D. degree from Anadolu University in Distance Education. Currently, he is working as a post-doc researcher and co-principal investigator (co-PI) within the scope of UOC’s project. His research interests are open and distance learning, educational technology, learning management systems, learning analytics, personal learning environments, and instructional design.

Dr. Ana Elena Guerrero Roldán

She holds a PhD focused on eLearning and technology by the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). She has a Bachelor in Pedagogy from the Ramon Llull University and is a specialist in online education. She is an Associate professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She has participated in several national and international research projects related with the teaching and learning process in virtual learning environments. She focuses her research on the design of technology enhanced systems for online teaching and learning processes, focusing on the e-assessment and feedback issues through the TEKING research group (http://teking.uoc.edu/), being the IP of this group. She developed an adaptive learning path system for online Higher Education that respond to users’ needs from both personal and educational perspectives using ICT. Dra. Ana Elena Guerrero is the TeSLA (An Adaptive trust-based e-assessment System for Learning) project co-ordinator (H2020 European Project, Ref. EC: 688520). Her role is related with the management of the project as well as the definition of the e-assessment framework for educational institutions behind the project.

Dr. M. Elena Rodríguez-González

M. Elena Rodríıguez received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Universidad de Alcalá, respectively. Since June 2001, she is a lecturer at the at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) with a permanent position as associate professor, and a member of the TEKING research group (http://teking.uoc.edu/). From a teaching perspective, she coordinates undergraduate and master’s database courses. During the last decade, she has participated in several funded research and innovation projects: five national (Spanish) research projects, two European research projects, and one innovation project (MQD program of the Catalan Government), as well as several internal innovation projects at the UOC. Her current research interests deal with knowledge representation modeling and engineering with particular application in technology enhanced learning, assessment and data analytics.

Juliana Elisa Raffaghelli

Professor at the Faculty of Education and Psychology (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) and researcher for the national program “Ramón y Cajal”. Her research interests are connected with professional learning, media education and educational technologies for lifelong learning. Recently she has focused his research on critical data literacy in higher education. She has published books and articles connected to the mentioned research topics.
