Antonio Paoliello

Antonio Paoliello holds a Degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale”, an MRes in East Asian Studies from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies from the same university. He has taught at the University of Edinburgh and at the UOC. He currently teaches Chinese Literature and Classical Chinese at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and serves as Adjunct Head of the Chinese Department at the Official School of Languages, also in Barcelona.

His research centers on Sinophone literature and film. More specifically, he investigates the relations among Sinophone Malaysian literature, the Sinophone literary polysystem and Malaysian national literature. He has also published on Chinese Peruvian writer Siu Kam Wen.
