About us

Aging and Communication Studies is a Temporary Working Group of the ECREA (European Communication Research and Education Association).

Older adults are a diverse group with unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and it is essential to incorporate such diversity in communication studies. Aging and Communication explores ageism, biases in data, algorithms and artificial intelligence. Also, how media can better represent the diversity of aging experiences, how digital platforms allow older individuals to share their experiences and messages, or intergenerational communication. Moreover, we expect members of the TWG will contribute their agendas to enrich and widen this initial focus.
